Actually, the Nintendo Switch OLED appears only on October 8th and is still one and a half weeks away. The YouTube channel Nintendo Prime had luck and now keeps a copy of Nintendos Improved Handheld Console in the hands. He took the opportunity to not only unpack the OLED variant, but also to compare side by side with the current switch.
The direct comparison: So much better is the switch OLED in terms of brightness and screen size
However, Nintendo Prime does not require a technical analysis here, as one knows, for example, from the colleagues of DigitalFoundry. Instead, the focus is on how the console acts on the first impression and above all, as it beats compared to the original switch.
In the eye, the first pierced increased size of the screen and the brightness. Although the 0.8 inches (2.03cm) more on the paper listen to no impressive number, the difference in direct comparison is quite considerable. The smaller edge of the screen with the same console size is clearly noticeable.
Add to that the increased brightness of the OLED switch. As can be seen in the video, the new console can be clearly brighter. This is likely to beat the current Nintendo Switch (now € 379.26) not only in dark rooms, but also outside under direct sunlight. On qualitative differences between the two screens can not really close from the recordings shown.
The dock also differs from the original
Youtuber Nintendo Prime also throws a quick look at the dock. The is now known to now with a LAN connection, as can be seen in the video, there is another difference to the previous dock: The back is no longer attached to a hinge, but can now be completely detached.
